Alpaca Dryer Balls
Alpaca fleece reacts to water differently than sheep’s wool.  Sheep’s wool will tend to soak up and absorb moisture during the drying process pulling it away from your clothes helping them dry faster.  Alpaca fleece, on the other hand, doesn’t absorb water but it does help wick and pull water away from your clothes achieving a similar effect.
 
Environmentally Friendly
Alpaca wool is environmentally friendly alternative to plastic and other artificial materials.  Alpaca fleece doesn’t have the chemicals and artificial scents that dryer sheets typically have.
 
Alpaca dryer balls can help shorten dry time between 15-25%.  Alpaca dryer balls will typically last for hundreds of loads and often for more than a thousand loads.  For a typical family they will last for a few years before they need to be replaced.
 
Hypoallergenic
Alpaca dryer balls are better than sheep’s wool dryer balls if you have extremely sensitive skin.  Wool contains lanolin which can cause skin irritation on some individuals.
 
Essential Oils
If you’d like to add a little scent to your laundry you can add a few drops of essential oils to your dryer balls before running them though the dryer.  The essential oil should not transfer to your clothes if you remove the load from the dryer when it’s finished but if you are worried about transfer you can wrap them in a sock or pillowcase to provide a barrier from the clothes.
